What to send for a framing and drywall bid
A short checklist for general contractors, property managers and home builders. The more of this we have, the faster and tighter the bid.
The drawings
Architectural plans are the starting point. The rest of the set tells us what is hidden behind the board.
- Architectural floor plans, wall types and partition schedule
- Reflected ceiling plans, for ceiling framing, soffits and grid
- Interior elevations and details, including fire-rated and sound-rated assemblies
- Structural and MEP sheets when they affect framing or blocking
The specs
Specs decide board type, finish level and what counts as complete.
- Gauge and stud spacing requirements
- Board types by area: standard, Type X, moisture-resistant, abuse-resistant
- Finish level by area, Level 4 or Level 5, and the paint or wallcovering that follows
- Acoustical ceiling tile and grid specs, if ceilings are in the scope
The scope
A clear line between our scope and the other trades prevents change orders later.
- What is included: framing, board, tape and finish, ceilings
- Who provides blocking, backing and fire caulk
- Insulation and sound batts: ours or someone else's
- Allowances, alternates and any unit prices you want broken out
The schedule and site
Dates and access change how we crew a job.
- Bid due date and the date you need a proposal
- Target start, phasing and completion dates
- Site address, working hours and any access, parking or hoisting limits
- Whether the building is occupied, and any noise or dust restrictions

Send what you have. We will list the assumptions we priced and flag the items to confirm before we finalize the number.

Yes. A download link emailed to info@promisinginteriors.com works for large sets.
